Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

image

So it went something like this:
In a post-workout daze with my friend, Daniela, we began a discussion of children’s story books.
“Hey remember Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs?”
“Yes.”
“I’m starving.”
“Want to make meatballs?”
That’s how it began and that’s how it ended. The rest of the night was spent rolling, frying (Daniela insisted) and eating meatballs.
Brown Sugar Glazed Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds of ground turkey (yes…we will have leftovers for days…any takers?)
pepper, garlic powder, and salt to season the meat
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
Directions:
First, combine all ingredients for the sauce and let simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes. Once you take the sauce off the stove, it will thicken slightly. While the sauce simmers, add the spices and meat together in a bowl. Roll the meatballs with your hands and place them in a skillet with olive oil until brown. Drizzle the sauce over the meatballs to serve and look at that…easy as…meatballs?

In the story book, the weather comes three times a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and is in the form of food and beverages. I will depart tomorrow morning at 7 am sharply on a boat made of bread in search of this magical land…care to join?

Cheers!
-Bay
